Scenes from the grand opening of Sitka's new The Cloud teen center

One of the two 2018 Sitka Health Summit community wellness goals was to build a safe place for teens/teen center. That came to pass on Saturday, Aug. 24, with the grand opening of Sitka's The Cloud teen center, which is located on Harbor Drive next to Yellow Jersey Cycle Shop.

The Cloud, which is open to Sitka residents ages 13-19, will be managed by Youth Advocates of Sitka, which helped obtain grant funding to pay the rent and staff for the new teen center. Youth Advocates of Sitka had the Smoothie Truck at the event, as well.
